Welcome September!
I’m thrilled to be starting off this season of creativity, collaboration and making by speaking with fellow community-builder and Tinkerer, Ally Mackenzie.
Allison MacKenzie is a multidisciplinary creative who’s extremely passionate about bringing people together and making magical things happen. She takes photos, paints, markets and produces for indie theatre, and loves to sing (out of key, loudly).
In this episode, you’ll learn about Ally’s brainchild, Tinker*, and what makes the space in Toronto so special.
You’ll hear about the ways that it’s an interdisciplinary, iterative, low-stakes and high community environment.
We talk about imperfection, vulneratibility and experimentation and Ally shares stories of Tinkerers in action.
We get into the traps of social media and Ally’s big goals for the space.
Finally, we end with a discussion of the 4 P’s we’re both working to cultivate in our respective spaces: projects, passion, peers and play (aka Lifelong Kindergarten!).
Let's listen in!
