I’ve been fascinated by the concept of biomimicry for years and years. Biomimicry helps uncover natural answers to human problems because nature has already elegantly solved so many problems that apply to living life as a human being. For example, Velcro was invented after a Swiss engineer in the 1940s emerged from a hunting trip with burs stuck to his clothes and his dogs’ fur. And modern day paper! Today’s paper making process is inspired by paper wasps and their ability to construct nests, chewing up wood and mixing it with saliva.
Today’s conversation features Paige Deasley, photographer, storyteller, and creative strategist passionate about helping people reconnect with nature. Her work is rooted in a vision to create outdoor experiences where people can unplug, explore, and reconnect with what matters most.
In this conversation, you’ll hear about Paige’s life that exists at the intersection of nature and creativity. You’ll hear how she handles working remotely while immersing herself in nature, how she found her photographic voice, as well as what about the natural world inspires her and what it’s like to swim with an octopus. Finally, you’ll hear about Paige’s ideal vision of a life that allows her to explore creativity in the natural world.
Let’s listen in…
