We just finished up our trip to Toronto and we’re now headed back across the Atlantic Ocean to Margate, UK. Let’s goooooo….


Melanie Johnsson is a french illustrator currently living by the sea in the UK

with her partner Mike and daughter River. She loves bright colours, bold shapes and quirky characters. When she isn't working for her roster of worldwide clients, she can be found in the water, either kitesurfing, surfing or freediving. Melanie is in love with the Planet thus she prioritises working with sustainable brands and passionate people. Her work is bold, colourful, modern and joyful. She has previously worked with brands such as Vans, Adobe, MOO, Lucy & Yak, Hallmark, E.ON, Givingli and more.


In this episode, you’ll hear Mel discuss her family history in design, as well as her favourite tools including how and why she loves Adobe Photoshop. Mel describes how personal branding plays a huge role in today’s world of graphic design and the ways that making your core values known to the world can be critically important to working with your dream clients. Finally, you’ll hear the way in which Mel’s home by the sea in Margate, UK positively affects her creativity.
